Questions, answered
How do you install faux stone panels?
Faux stone panels install over a clean, flat, dry and structurally sound wall with construction adhesive and fasteners. No mortar or scaffolding is needed. Let the panels acclimatize flat in the room for 24 hours, strike a level line for the first row (do not measure up from the floor), then apply adhesive in vertical beads plus a full bead around the perimeter and behind every interlocking finger. Fix each panel through the fingers and tongue, work row by row from the bottom, and stagger the vertical joints. A fine-tooth blade of about 80 teeth or more gives the cleanest cut. Our panel installation guide has the full steps.
Can I install faux stone panels myself, or do I need a contractor?
Many of the projects in this gallery were installed by homeowners, and each photo is labeled DIY or Contractor where we know who did the work. The panels are lightweight polyurethane, much lighter than real stone, which makes them easier to handle and install. The installation guide lists the tools you need: a tape measure, pencil, level and chalk line, a saw, a drill or driver, a caulking gun and safety gear. Stick-A-Stone is our peel-and-stick option, made so you do not need a builder.

Can I order a sample before I buy?
Yes. Samples are $15 each and are credited back against a panel order. Samples ordered before 11:30 AM ET go out the same day, and samples ship free everywhere. Colors on a screen are only a guide, so hold a sample where it will be installed and look at it at different times of day. Every gallery photo has a Buy a sample button for its color.
Can faux stone panels be used outdoors as well as indoors?
The gallery includes interior projects (fireplaces, accent walls, basements, bathrooms, kitchens and offices) and exterior projects (exterior siding, backyards, front yards and sheds). Tritan BP products are hand-finished with exterior-grade water-based pigments that include UV inhibitors. Outdoors, some fading and weathering over time is normal, and we recommend a compatible light UV-protective topcoat every 3 to 5 years. The panels are not a weather-resisting layer: exterior walls need the supporting structure, membranes, flashings and sealants detailed for the building, and the panels go over them.
Are Tritan BP faux stone panels fire rated?
Some are. Class A to ASTM E84 applies to Stick-A-Stone and its starter strip, the concrete collection, Cotswold Stone and Cottage Lane in every color, to Lightning Ridge in Nature's Spirit, Gray Fox, Moonlight Gray and Cappuccino, and to Earth's Valley and Canyon's Edge in Nature's Spirit and Gray Fox. Harvest Ledge, Traditions, Summit Stone, Aged Brick and British Brick carry no fire rating claim. Fire rated is not fireproof, and these are decorative products that are not classified as non-combustible. The fire and compliance page has the full list.
What are the panels made of, and how do I care for them?
Tritan BP panels are made from lightweight polyurethane, with a typical density of 12 to 16 lb. A panel covers roughly 7 square feet. Most products need minimal maintenance: light dusting, or mild soap and water when cleaning is needed. Touch-up kits are available separately for many colors.
Will the color match the photos in the gallery?
The panels are hand-finished by artists, so some variation in tone, blending and finish is normal, and screens and lighting change how color looks. Order a sample and view it in your own space. Because pigments can vary between batches, order enough panels to finish the whole project at once.
How can I share a photo or submit my own project?
Open any photo and use the Pinterest, Facebook, X or copy-link buttons. The image shared to Pinterest carries a small Tritan BP watermark. To be featured in the gallery, email your photo or video to support@tritanbp.com with the product, the color, whether it was DIY or contractor installed, and your permission to share it.
